How much does a room cost at Nine on Mitchell?

Single rooms are $190 to $220 per week, and double rooms are $210 to $250 per week. Couples can stay in selected double rooms for an additional approximately $50 per week for the second occupant. All rates are in NZD and are all-inclusive.

What is included in the weekly rent?

Weekly rent at Nine on Mitchell includes power, water, hot water, heating, unlimited Wi-Fi, and weekly cleaning of common areas. There are no additional utility bills to pay.

Are the rooms furnished?

Yes. Every room at Nine on Mitchell is furnished with a bed, wardrobe and heater. Single rooms come with a single bed; double rooms come with a double bed. You only need to bring your personal belongings.

What is the minimum stay?

The minimum stay at Nine on Mitchell is 28 days. Many of our residents stay for full study years or work contracts.

Can couples stay at Nine on Mitchell?

Yes. Couples are welcome in selected double rooms. An additional cost of approximately $50 per week applies for the second occupant.

How far is Nine on Mitchell from the University of Otago?

It is approximately a 9 minute drive to the University of Otago campus. We are in the quiet Mornington neighbourhood, close to the central city, Otago Polytechnic and public transport.

Is there parking available?

Street parking is available and there is generally plenty of space on Mitchell Avenue and the surrounding streets.

Are pets allowed?

No. Pets of any kind are not permitted on the premises, including pet-sitting and feeding strays. This is part of our house rules.

Is smoking permitted?

No. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the building at any time. This is for fire safety and is a condition of tenancy.

Is the property safe and secure?

Yes. CCTV operates in all common areas and external spaces to support the safety and security of all residents. The house is professionally managed with responsive support. Electronic swipe tags are required for entry.

Are guests allowed?

Tenants must not cause any interference with the peace, comfort or privacy of other tenants — this applies to guests too. Please ensure any guests comply with the house rules. Parties and loud music are not permitted.

How do I pay rent?

Rent is paid weekly. Details are confirmed at the time of move-in.
